Dear visitor,

my name is Marc Berger and I’m the founder, photographer and webdesigner of The Rio de Janeiro Photo Guide. Beside showing the world the most beautiful city of the world, I am an economist. I discovered my passion for photography during an academic exchange to Rio de Janeiro of one year, through which I also discovered my deep love to the marvellous city of Rio de Janeiro and its citizens, the “cariocas”. Well truely spoken I did discover my love in respect to Rio de Janeiro already earlier, due to the fact that my deeply loved girl-friend is “carioca”.

The aim here is to show the world the breeth-taking beauty of “a cidade maravilhosa” - Rio de Janeiro - and to give those that are planning to visit this jewelery in Brasil the opportunity to get a first impression of this megapolis with its richness of nature - forest, beaches, mountains, lagoons etc.

I can only hardly recomend to visit the cariocas and their city! You by no means don’t have to be afraid of violence or assaults, if you pay attention to some basic rules. I will post in the near future a list of those and a map of the city in respect of not-to-go-areas like they are in every bigger city.

For the “cariocas” God is not just braszilan, no he is also a “carioca”. And taking a look at the natural gifts that this city recieved - located at huge bay and an enormous urban open-ocean coastline, home to the biggest urban forest in the world and the world famous sugar loaf or corcovado mountains etc - makes it dificult to doubt about this.

More to come ... Kind regards Marc D. Berger
