Hike up Sugarloaf Mountain

you’ll start your hike at Praia Vermelha from where you open up your journey with a calm walk along the Pista Claúdio Cautinho until the end of it. There the real trail start. On a small path you’ll go along the cliffs until heading steep up the first part towards the mountain peak. after that there comes the “second section”: a steep hike up on plain rock - you better go up there with good shoework or you have to use your hands, too ;-). In the third section, there lies the real challenge: you have to climb up about 20 metres of rock wall. At least here you realize that the decision to take a guide was the only solution to it!!!!!! The guide will climb up, fix the security robe on which you’ll make your way up. Do not despair if you’d slip off once, you are safe and for sure will get it done in a second try (even I did it ;-).

The final section is easy going and with time to enjoy the amazing views offered.
